The Glasgow office of leading hotel and licensed property specialist, Colliers International, is pleased to announce the sale of the Murray Arms Hotel in the conservation village of Gatehouse of Fleet. The long established 3 star hotel has been sold to local hoteliers Jim and Helen Stewart, who become only the third owners in nearly three centuries.
The hotel is a traditional "all round" town hostelry and social venue with a wide range of attractive public areas, including the large function suite, restaurant and bars, as well as 12 en suite bedrooms. The hotel has operated successfully for many years and, in new hands, will be upgraded and restored to its' former glory as the "best venue in the area".
The hotel had been extensively marketed through the combined efforts of Colliers International in Glasgow and Seymour & Clink and it was sold off a guide price of £495,000.
Adam Lansdown, Director at Colliers International, commented; "We were delighted by the range of interest shown in the Murray Arms Hotel throughout our sales campaign and by persistence, patience and flexibility a well-balanced and commercial sale has been achieved. This is further evidence that sales of hospitality businesses are happening and due our specialist experience in this market place we are getting new instructions daily of good hotel stock which is of interest to both experienced hoteliers and new comers to the industry".
