With stunning views and excellent reputation, the diner’s paradise is a mecca for fly fishing fans, yachting enthusiasts and birdwatchers.
Tasked with reeling in new owners for the superb facility, Colliers International Hotels director Simon Wells said Woodford Lodge boasted 90 covers offering stunning views over Chew Valley Lake and the surrounding countryside – yet is just a short drive from Bristol.
Available on a new 15 year free of tie lease from Bristol Water, the current turnover is around £260,000 net. Price of the leasehold is available on application.
Simon Wells said the lakeside location was ideal for the ambitious publican and restaurateur.
He said: “This is an opportunity to hook on to a successful business with one of the best views in the area. With everything going for it in terms of location the new owners can also expect to take on the existing clientele while taking the business to a completely new level.”
Built by Bristol Water in 2000 to host the World Fly Fishing Championships, the lodge sits in a spacious site of managed open grassland on the edge of the lake.
Simon Wells said: “Our clients have decided that after running the restaurant for many years it is time to step back and to focus on the core business of water and fishing so there is an opportunity to take on the existing business which is fully equipped and open.”
