In the largest new build industrial transaction in Scotland for some time, ACS Clothing Ltd, represented by Colliers International’s Glasgow Logistics & Industrial team, has taken the 85,340 sq ft Orion unit on a 15 year lease with a break option at year ten at a rental of £426,700 per annum.
The move sees ACS Clothing Ltd, Europe’s largest dress hire group, consolidate its current UK operations in Glasgow and Manchester and relocate to Eurocentral’s Centralpoint scheme.
The newly-built Orion unit, which forms part of the Centralpoint Logistics Park, incorporates modern warehousing and office facilities. It is located next to the M8 and the Eurocentral interchange provides immediate access to and from the motorway.
Iain Davidson, Director of Logistics & Industrial with Colliers International in Scotland, said: “We are delighted to have successfully concluded this high profile transaction on behalf of ACS Clothing. The brief was to secure a modern well located facility on attractive terms to future proof ACS’ growing business and we are pleased to have met our clients objectives on all fronts.”
Richard Freedman, Managing Director of ACS Clothing, said: “This is a significant milestone and strategic move for ACS. The new facility will provide an excellent platform from which to grow the business as we set our sights on strengthening our position in key markets across Europe.”
More than 3,000 people are currently employed at Eurocentral, which has over 3.5 million sq ft of developed space and also hosts operations for businesses including Morrisons, Hovis, Argos, Warburtons and Norbert Dentressangle.
Colliers International have also been instructed to market ACS’ existing Glasgow facility located at Junction 9 of the M8 within Glasgow Business Park. The prime located building comprises a modern high quality industrial warehouse with offices and yard totalling 40,000 sq ft and is available for sale or lease.
In addition to Agency work, Colliers International also provided ACS with pre-acquisition Building Surveying services.
