21.09.2011Colliers International has raised thousands for charity, crossing the finish line of their sponsored bike ride from London to Paris earlier this week. These funds will add to the £80,000 which the Colliers Cycle Challenges have raised for good causes over the last 6 years. Following many months of training, a team of over 30 Colliers International colleagues from around the UK set off on the 180 mile charity cycle from London to Paris last Friday, to raise vital funds for nominated charities Cancer Research UK and The North West Children’s Support Group. Colliers International Group Finance Director Mark Sample, who participated in the four day ride said: “This is the sixth year Colliers International has participated in this type of cycle, and after a challenging yet enjoyable ride we are very pleased to have raised the much needed funds for our nominated charities”. Founded in 1976 the North West Children's Support Group is a purely voluntary organisation who run three holidays and year-round events for up to sixty disabled and disadvantaged children who need the opportunity to share experiences on a social level and have parents needing respite from full time care and would not otherwise have a holiday. Cancer Research UK is the world's leading charity dedicated to beating cancer through research. They support the work of more than 4,000 researchers, doctors and nurses throughout the UK, fighting cancer on all fronts. Every day, their researchers make cutting-edge discoveries in the labs, and their doctors and nurses pioneer new treatments with patients in hospitals. Colliers International has previously participated in a number of charity cycle rides, with past trips including from Bratislava to Budapest, through Holland and Belgium, and across Northern Ireland.
