Brum bicylists raise £1,8000 for Charity

Three surveyors from the Birmingham office of Colliers International have raised more than £1,800 for charity following a sponsored London to Paris bike ride.

Simon Norton, joint head of the logistics and industrial department, Chris Bampton, associate director in the investment team and Richard Roberts, a surveyor in the development team, undertook the 224 mile journey over four days with 27 colleagues from around Colliers International’s UK network. Collectively, the 30-strong team raised more than £12,000.

Two charities will benefit from the saddle-sore team’s efforts: Cancer Research UK and the North West Children’s Support Group, which provides holidays and runs events for disabled and disadvantaged youngsters.

Colliers International has undertaken cycle challenges over the last six years, raising more than £80,000 for good causes.

Simon Norton said: “The trip was fantastic and a great team effort in rasing so much money for good causes. The only real issues were the punctures and dogdy tan lines left from wearing lyrca for four days!”
