Colliers Birmingham office Dragon Boat racing for Charity in Brindleyplace

The Colliers Birmingham office took part in the Brindleyplace Dragonboat event on Saturday, sponsored by Deutsche Bank. It was a huge success and a lot of fun, which was all down to everyone for being such good sports and for being so passionate about the day.

A big congratulations especially goes to 'Phoenix Flyers' for winning on the day and to No. 5 Chambers for winning the best fancy dress prize once again!

It is hoped that money raised has exceeded the previous record of £43,000 and all of the money will be donated to Birmingham Children's Hospital End of Life Care project.

End of Life Care Team Nurses - Sue and Nicki commented:

“We just wanted to say a ”huge thank you” to everyone involved in the Brindleyplace Dragonboat Festival on Saturday, we had a fantastic time and we hope you did too.

We were so impressed by the effort teams had put in to the fancy dress, everywhere you looked just made you laugh, from the ‘men’ who struggled to keep their tights from falling down (Mitchell and Butlers) to the blue smurfs (Barclays Corporate) wandering about! The competition between the teams when in the boats was so fantastic, with lots of banter and laughter but – such determination to win!  Well done to everyone.  The day would not have happened without the fantastic support of Deutsche Bank and their team of volunteers, securing balloons and banners and wandering around with buckets and raffle tickets.

It was a really humble experience to see the time and energy you all put in to the day and that so much enjoyment can bring so much help for children and their families at an incredibly difficult and painful time in their lives.  We really value your support and urge to you smash your fundraising target so we can support these children and their families, as there is currently no provision from the NHS for an End of Life Care Team”
