On the instructions of Begbies Traynor, the Leeds office of leading licensed & leisure agents, Colliers International has announced that it has been instructed to sell the freehold of Palfrey’s Lodge, a large community freehouse on Acacia Road in the Bessacarr area of Doncaster.
The pub is located in a mostly residential area adjacent to a parade of small businesses, ideally positioned for the family market. It comprises a number of linked areas on the ground floor including a function room and large family room with soft play area for children and a separate section for under 5s. There is plenty of outside seating and a large (leased) car park. Currently being operated under interim management the turnover for the 6 months to September 2012 was £207,319 net of VAT.
Leigh Parsons, a director in the Licensed & Leisure department who is handling the sale comments: “Palfrey’s Lodge is an excellent business with a good catchment for the family business which is its core. There is tremendous scope for a private, multiple or even a branded operator to take the business forward and we are anticipating a good level of interest given the high current turnover and potential for improvement.”
Offers around £495,000 are being sought by the agents.
