30.04.2012Colliers International has secured a new flagship restaurant in the City of London for Buenos Aires Restaurants. Colliers has let the property at 67-69 Watling Street EC4 to Buenos Aires Restaurants, who plan to develop the site to house their flagship London restaurant and bar. Located close to One New Change and St Paul’s Cathedral, the former Calico Bar & Restaurant, owned by Marston’s will form the sixth unit that Buenos Aires have in London and Surrey and provides them with their first foray into Central London. Ross Kirton, Director at Colliers International commented: “This is Buenos Aires Restaurants’ first restaurant in Central London - their flagship restaurant and bar - and the strength of their concept will be sure to make the restaurant a great success. “Central London has remained a hotspot for restaurant occupiers. The St Paul’s area has become more attractive with the arrival of One New Change, which has improved increased weekend footfall. “The taking of this unit by Buenos Aires is a testament to the growing demand for premium steak restaurants in the UK. Despite entering into a double-dip recession, this type of premium restaurant is still as popular as ever, and this really is a fantastic time for Buenos Aires’s first venture into the City.” The 7,702 sq ft unit has been taken at a rent of £202,500 per annum.
