Property News Response to the budget from Colliers International

Holcombe Hall

Colliers International Healthcare has been instructed by the Joint Administrators to sell Holcombe Hall in Dawlish, South Devon on the basis of vacant possession. The former nursing home is one of four care businesses within the Kaippans Care Holdings Limited group which was placed into administration earlier this month.

Holcombe Hall is registered for 29 and provides care for service users over the age of 65 suffering from Dementia and Mental Health problems. The substantial detached Victorian property sits in 1.8 acres in an elevated position with stunning sea views.  Detailed planning permission was granted in 2009 for the demolition of existing extensions and the erection of new two storey extensions to the east and south of the site.

The property is being marketed by Rachel McCarthy in the Colliers International Healthcare team who commented: “We are openly marketing Holcombe Hall and targeting experienced care operators in both the long term elderly care and specialist care sectors as well as residential developers and private purchasers to ensure best price is achieved for our clients.

“The level of interest received to date has been very encouraging and once a period of full marketing has taken place, we may run an informal tender process to ensure all parties have an opportunity to make their best bid.”

The guide price for the freehold vacant possession is £850,000.  Viewings are by appointment with the sole agent.
