Property News Response to the budget from Colliers International

Ocado

Ocado, advised by Colliers International, has expanded its presence in Hertfordshire. The retailer has acquired, on a leasehold basis, the 102,500 sq ft former Shredded Wheat distribution centre at Bridge Road, Welwyn Garden City.

The centre is located at the heart of Welwyn Garden City, and provides excellent access to the A1 and M25. The site is also close to national rail and local public transport links, which will be of great benefit to both existing and future staff.

The unit, which had been vacant since Shredded Wheat closed their operation in November 2007 is owned by Pall Mall.

Joshua Pater
, Associate Director at Colliers International commented:  “This is the largest letting along the A1M corridor so far in 2011 and represents an ideal opportunity for Ocado to expand their business in the South East.

“We are delighted to be working with Ocado on their continuing expansion into the region, and we are hopeful of completing further transactions to assist them in their operations.”

Pall Mall was advised by Aitchison Raffety.
