21.01.2011The Destination Consulting team of Colliers International has secured a prominent commission with English Heritage, to undertake a research project of major importance and national significance. The key outcomes from this research project will be to make clear recommendations, based on sound research that will enable effective decision making with respect to modifying policy and encouraging investment in heritage assets. David Geddes, Principal Associate, said, "This is a prestigious instruction for us. Our bid was informed by our colleagues in the regional offices, providing case studies and exemplars, to demonstrate our understanding of introducing sustainable commercial uses into industrial heritage buildings. In addition, we received support from the Deputy Chief Executive at Urban Splash, who has agreed to be our Specialist Development Advisor, during the course of the project. "Our understanding was conveyed in the submission and at interview. Our team includes Specialist Heritage Advisors, and by combining this unique skillset with Colliers property acumen, ensured we stood apart from our competitors and demonstrated our bespoke response. The findings of this research will be made public which will further enhance Colliers' reputation of enabling development in the historic built environment. Our success is very much based on the teamwork across the regional offices and a general commitment from key personnel to ensure we delivered the exact requirements sought by English Heritage. This is a significant win for us all".
