Crystal began her career in marketing and public relations at Clovernook Center for the Blind. She later worked at Rumpke, a regional waste and recycling company in the corporate communications department. Her responsibilities included public relations, advertising and marketing. Crystal specializes in media and crisis communication as well as marketing and public relations.

Crystal is active in the Dayton community as a member of the Dayton Chamber of Commerce, Generation Dayton marketing committee member; Beavercreek Chamber of Commerce; Dayton Tooling & Manufacturing Association, membership committee; Dayton Better Business Bureau Eclipse Integrity Awards committee; and Media Relations/Communications Chair for the Public Relations Society of America Dayton Chapter.
