Mr. Matthai is a Senior Vice President and Principal of the firm and has been a leader in the downtown office marketing team for Colliers Pinkard for his entire career. He is responsible for the overall direction of leasing and project marketing services for many of the firm's premiere accounts.
Mr. Matthai has been with the firm for 26 years. In 1986, he was elected an officer of Colliers Pinkard as an Assistant Vice President. In 1988, he was promoted to Vice President and became an Associate Broker, and in 1994 he was offered a Principal position in the firm. Mr.Matthai has grown to be a major stockholder and Board member of Colliers Pinkard.
In recent years, Mr. Matthai has been directly responsible for a significant portion of Colliers Pinkard's downtown business. Some of the more notable transactions include:

- Legg Mason Tower - 100 International Drive, a 590,000-square-foot LEED silver headquarters tower by H&S Properties
- Thames Street Wharf, a 278,000-square-foot LEED silver operations building, built for lead tenant Morgan Stanley by H&S Properties
- 650 Exeter, a 208,000-square-foot office project by H&S Properties and Struever Bros. Eccles & Rouse
- Bond Street Wharf, a 218,000-square-foot pier office project by H & S Properties and Struever Bros. Eccles & Rouse
- Tide Point, a 400,000-square-foot historic office conversion project by Struever Bros. Eccles & Rouse
- 100 East Pratt Street, a 650,000-square-foot IBM joint venture, now owned by Wells Real Estate Funds
- The Candler Building, a 534,000-square-foot turn around by The Meridian Group, now owned by HRPT
- The B&O Building, a 215,000-square-foot redevelopment by The Oliver T. Carr Co.
In the past 21 years, Mr. Matthai has been involved with several major consulting assignments and investment sales, including:
- 100 East Pratt Street, a $173 million dollar disposition
- The Candler Buidling, a $61 million dollar disposition
- 300 East Lombard Street, a $30 million dollar disposition
- 300 West Pratt Street, an $11 million dollar disposition
Mr. Matthai has also sold numerous other downtown properties, including:
- The Hecht’s Building twice, a
220,000-square-foot building
- 10 West Eager Street, a 22,000-square-foot building
- 1505 North Eutaw Street, a
30,000-square-foot building
Mr. Matthai’s civic involvements include past president of the Maryland Chapter of the University of North Carolina Alumni Association, several positions at the Gilman School including chairman of The Gilman Fund, chairperson of the Centennial Capital Campaign, member of the board of trustees and president of the Alumni Association, past member of the board of governors at The Elkridge Club and a past member of the development council for Kennedy Institute.
