Ben Burns specializes in the sales and leasing of commercial office space and investment sales transactions. Prior to joining Colliers, Ben practiced law in Nashville for over 20 years. He was Senior Litigation Counsel at HCA Inc. (a $20 Billion owner and operator of hospitals in over 21 states, England and Switzerland), overseeing litigation involving a number of disputes including breach of contract, real estate disputes, lease disputes, construction disputes, environmental matters, vendor disputes, mechanics and materialmen’s lien matters, etc. Prior to HCA, Ben was an attorney at the Nashville law firms of Waller Lansden Dortch & Davis, the firm Baker Worthington Crossley Stansberry & Woolf (now known as Baker Donelson Bearman Caldwell & Berkowitz) and Bone Langford & Armistead (now known as Bone McAllester Norton). While in private practice, Ben handled matters involving corporate law, real estate and business litigation.
Over the last 15 years, Ben personally invested in a number of real estate deals including office, retail, industrial, land and investment properties. In each of these investments, Ben was actively involved in the due diligence, closing, management and leasing of these properties. The experience gained from his hands on dealings in real estate, coupled with his broad based experience in law, uniquely qualifies Ben to be of service to his clients in leasing and selling office space and investment properties.
Ben is a member of Colliers' Heathcare Services Group and Colliers' Law Firm Services Group.
