Mr. Barnett primarily focuses on tenant representation and acquisitions and dispositions for industrial clients. Prior to joining Colliers, Mr. Barnett worked as a Physical Power Trader for Duke Energy North America. While earning an MBA at Rice University, he also interned as a Business Analyst at the Houston Technology Center and worked as a Marketing Specialist for Federal Express Asia/Pacific in the firm’s Hong Kong office. Prior to graduate school, Mr. Barnett served for four years on the staff of United States Senator Bill Frist (current Senate Majority Leader) in Washington, DC. At the close of his tenure with the Senator, Mr. Barnett held the position of Legislative Assistant.
Education
Mr. Barnett received a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Management at Rice University in May of 2002. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in English and American Studies from Vanderbilt University.
Achievements
In 2004, Mr. Barnett was awarded CoStar’s “Power Broker” designation as a Top 25 Broker in Houston, recognizing his success among his peers in the commercial real estate community. Mr. Barnett and his wife Lisa support the Ronald McDonald House, where he serves as Treasurer of the Board of The Young Friends of Ronald McDonald House.
