Several successful property companies merge and adopt the name of their mentor, Ronald Collier, a Chartered Surveyor who was instrumental in the development of the profession in Australia. The agreement was signed on 27 October at 2.30 p.m.

Tony Petty & Associates, based in Hong Kong, joins Colliers, creating Colliers International
1978/79 – New Zealand Coverage Added
Collier Fletcher was formed in New Zealand.

American Realty Services Group in the United States joins Colliers International and adopts the Colliers name.
1986 - Asia Pacific Division Grows Stronger
Colliers becomes partners with Jardine Matheson Ltd., a trading company founded in 1832 in China.
1990 – Colliers International Extends to New Boundaries and Emerging Markets
Colliers reconfigures its European coverage by establishing offices throughout the region to join Colliers International whilst exporting or developing talent in the new markets of the former Eastern bloc.
1991 – Colliers Jardine in Asia
The real estate operation of the Jardine Matheson Group merge with the Australian and New Zealand offices of Colliers International to form Colliers Jardine.
1997 – Restructuring For A Truly Integrated Global Service
Colliers Jardine restructured its ownership to give an equal shareholding to the leading North American property services group, Colliers Macualay Nicolls (CMN).
1997 – Colliers International opens its office in Warsaw, Poland
2001 - A Global Leader
For the first time, revenue tops $1 billion. Colliers ranks first in the world in terms of global reach, second largest in revenue, third largest in number of people, and fourth largest in property under management.
2002 - Back to Colliers International
Colliers Macaulay Nicolls Inc ("CMN") acquires an additional 50% interest in Colliers Jardine Holding Ltd., resulting in their full ownership. The new ownership structure will provide our clients with seamless service across the globe.
