Colliers CRE was appointed by Darlington Borough Council to assist in bringing forward a new shopping centre to enhance the town centre and improve its retail and leisure offer.

We have advised on scope, demand and viability. We then marked the site, advised on developer selection and assisted in concluding the development agreement.

Discovery Property has been selected as the prefered developer. Planning consent has been granted.

The 250,000 sq ft scheme, on two levels, is to be anchored by a department store and a multiplex cinema, Debenhams and Vue respectively. It includes a bridge link across the inner ring road to a new 850 space multi storey car park. Start on site is scheduled for 2007 and completion in October 2010.
