Carnegie Dunfermline Trusts
We advised 3 trusts on their best options for combining separate back office facilities into 1 building, in a way that would provide a "showcase" for the wider Carnegie trusts network.
Key Points
- Client wanted 3 back offices to work together in 1 building
- Limited period of time for making a decision
- We delivered a detailed appraisal in a short timescale
- New build, refurbishment, operational issues and disposal options were considered
Project details
Our project team for this client included colleagues with building consultancy, property consultancy and agency expertise.
We held detailed discussions with all key stakeholders and made sure we throughly understood each Trust's activies and operational needs before considering how they could combine facilites and work togehter effectively.
After surveying the existing premises we identified alternative options and worked up proposals for extension or conversion of existing assets, new build requirements, and disposal options for surplus assets. A concise appraisal with clear recommendations was presented to a combined Trusts'working group.
Our advice
Our recommendations, based on detailed knowledge of property and markets, looked at the best way of reducing running costs and increasing funds available for charitable work, whilst meeting the running needs of each Trust.
At all times we considered the nature of our clients' work; mindful that suitable options had to respect the historic legacy and high profile activities of the Carnegie Dunfermline Trusts.
