Christian Community in Action (CCA) has recently acquired Cary Plaza, a 52,000-square-foot neighborhood shopping center located in central Cary.  Bob Van Wormer and Hillman Duncan of Colliers Pinkard represented the not-for-profit organization, which operates the Dorcas Thrift Shop and provides outreach services to people facing crises in the Cary, NC area.  The CCA has outgrown its current facility in Cary, and will relocate to and occupy a portion of Cary Plaza over the next couple of years.  The $3.6M transaction comes after approximately 2 years of work by the project team. 

Shane Gray and Becky Hanner of Colliers Pinkard’s Property Management group in Raleigh provided Due Diligence services for CCA and have now been retained to provide Project Management services as the property receives a new roof and mechanical systems.  To date Colliers Pinkard has saved CCA in excess of $100,000 in improvement costs.

Colliers Pinkard anticipates beginning to market CCA’s existing building for sale in the coming year. 

Finally, Van Wormer and Duncan, with a matching gift from Colliers Pinkard, have made a $1,500 charitable contribution to the CCA, demonstrating Colliers Pinkard’s commitment to supporting the community.
