NEW YORK, June 2, 2009- Colliers ABR, Inc. a leading full service commercial real estate services firm, announced today that Eagle Food Groups LLC has signed a 15-year lease for 1,600 square feet at 680 8th Avenue at 43rd Street, occupying the entire ground floor.
“We were honored to be able to work with Common Ground Community, the owner of the building, in helping fulfill the mission of their organization,” said Mark Furst, Managing Director at Colliers ABR.
Common Ground Community, is a non-profit supportive housing and community development organization whose mission is to end homelessness through innovative programs that transform people, buildings and communities. The organization helps create affordable housing and business environments to better serve the community.
“After learning that the current tenant of the space, Ben & Jerry's, a wholly-owned autonomous subsidiary of Unilever, still had 16 months to go on the existing lease, Colliers ABR was able to find a creative solution, by successfully negotiating a buyout with Unilever,” said Michael Hofmann, Senior Managing Director - Retail Division at Colliers ABR
Mr. Hofmann and Mr. Furst at Colliers ABR represented Common Ground Community in the transaction. Eagle Food Groups LLC represented themselves.
