Shopping and entertainment center River Mall is situated on the territory of former plant n.a. Likhachev (Avtozavodskaya str, 16). Shopping center will be located on the Third Ring Road of Moscow near Avtozavodskaya and Tulskaya metro stations and will have a stunning Moscow-river view. River Mall will be one of the biggest shopping and entertainment centers in Moscow, the total area is more than 258,000 square meters.
Shopping and entertainment center River Mall is planned for opening at the end of 2010, Carrefour hypermarket will open its doors for the customers in 2011. Carrefour hypermarket will occupy a total leased area of more than 13,000 square meters and will be the main anchor tenant of the mall. The first Russian Carrefour hypermarket was opened in June of 2009. In September this year the second Carrefour store was presented to Krasnodar citizens, and the third hypermarket to be opened in Lipetsk till the end of 2009.
Carrefour not only offers the wide variety of high quality goods but makes a considerable contribution to the Russian economy development due to encouraging local sourcing and hiring local residents. All popular formats of anchor tenants will be represented in the shopping mall – electronics, sport goods hypermarkets and others. The shopping gallery will offer a wide range of goods and services. Movie theatre, large entertainment zone, food-court, several cafes and restaurants with panoramic views on Moscow-river will be also present. A large parking for 3,000 cars will be constructed for visitors’ convenience.
The developer of shopping and entertainment center River Mall is the company ZAO Kuznetsky Most Development in financial partnership with the Bank of Moscow. The company Colliers International serves as a consultant and an exclusive broker of the project and, together with the international architectural firm RTKL, are in charge of the shopping center concept development.
Tatyana Klyuchinskaya, Director of Retail Property Departmente of Colliers International noted: “This project forms a great pool of international anchor tenants, with which we are currently in the process of negotiations; and signing of the contracts is planned in the nearest future. Signature of the contract with international retailer Carrefour was the beginning of this process. We believe that this is beneficial not only for the project, but for retailer, as well, since the location of the shopping center, its concept and tenants mix are very successful. With all these factors River Mall shopping and entertainment center will be one of the best in Moscow within the Third Ring Road.”
Boris Schemyakin, President of Kuznetsky Most Development, commented the event: “No doubt, professional shopping centers with quality concept and sound location will attract tenants and customers even in tough time for the market. And retailers, which, as Carrefour, continue to think about their further development even in a crisis time, seem to us the most reasonable and prosperous partners for a long-term business”.
Announcing the signing of preliminary lease agreement, Nina Grinyuk, Business Development Director of Carrefour in Russia, said: “Recently the first Carrefour hypermarket opened its doors to consumers in the West of Moscow, and I’m sure that the opening of the next hypermarket in the Russian capital will improve the accessibility of goods and services that the company offers, and will also influence positively the further economic development of the city”.
