(Minneapolis, MN) September 30, 2009 – Colliers Turley Martin Tucker (Colliers), a world wide commercial real estate firm, along with partners from Peoples Electric and KONE, joined more than 1000 other volunteers to provide exterior home improvements to one of 25 deserving homeowners in the Twin Cities area. Owners of the Colliers home, Paul and Liz Matton, have lived in their Minneapolis home for the past 40 years. The Mattons have five children, and are both retired, however Paul keeps a part time janitorial job to keep him busy.
Colliers, Peoples Electric, and KONE volunteers worked on Paul and Liz’s home, focusing on exterior painting and landscaping the yard. There were 42 people throughout the day that contributed to the home improvement effort.
Colliers volunteers included: Dan Boris, Chris Braun, Will Buckley, Larry Chevalier, Katie Clark, Pete Dufour, Mimi Entwistle, Dawn Grant, Derek Hennen, Norma Jaeger, Amanda LaRiviere, Julie Lux, Christy Mackaman, Kelcey McKean, Michelle Nichols, Matt Palmer, Jeff Pearson, Mark Reiling, Angela Samargia, Kristof Schaper, Rodger Skare, and Brian Woolsey.
“Hearts & Hammers not only provides homeowners with a refreshed home exterior,” said Jeff Pearson, a Colliers co-captain. “The program fosters an atmosphere of building relationships with residents and teamwork. It is always a great opportunity to gather with your co-workers and make a positive impact in the community.”
Co-captain, Kelcey McKean, commented, “Program day was a great success,” she said. “Everyone was enthusiastic and charged to help with whatever task was necessary to get the job done right.”
This was the fifth year that Colliers has participated in the Twin Cities Hearts & Hammers Fall Program day.
