MINNEAPOLIS—(November 4, 2009)—The Minneapolis/St. Paul office of Colliers Turley Martin Tucker (Colliers), a world-wide leader of commercial real estate services, today announced that Duane E. Poppe, CCIM was elected to the Osseo City Council.

Winning the most votes of any candidate for council, Poppe will join Mark Schulz and new mayor Steve Menth as leaders for the City of Osseo. 

Poppe and family have spent the past 10 years in Osseo, where Poppe is a member of the Osseo Lion’s Club, the Osseo United Methodist Church, and where he coaches his son’s youth hockey team.  As a broker with Colliers, Poppe specializes in the Northwest market of the Twin Cities.

“As an active member of the Osseo Community, I look forward to continuing in a more dynamic role to improve and enhance the city,” said Poppe, a second vice president in Colliers’ Industrial Sales and Leasing and Corporate Solutions divisions.  “My work has always focused on collaborating with city and government entities to bring new businesses to the area, and my goal as a member of the City Council is to evaluate opportunities for added commercial growth as one way to lower taxes for residents of Osseo.  I am thrilled to have the opportunity to effect change and keep building a community we are all proud of.”
