Less than a year after opening distribution operations in West Memphis, the J.M. Smucker Co.is expanding its warehouse space by 150,000 square feet to fully occupy a 600,000-square-foot building at 3271 Infinity Parkway.

In July 2008, the company held its grand opening at the distribution center, which was built in 2006.

“As we’ve grown considerably over the last several years and have acquired a series of icon brands, it’s very important for us to have distribution centers throughout the country which allow for consolidated distribution of all of those brands,” says Maribeth Badertscher, director of corporate communications with J.M. Smucker.

The company previously had its local distribution operations in Memphis, but that facility was destroyed by a tornado in February 2008.
