SOCIETY OF OFFICE AND INDUSTRIAL REALTORS

The Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) is the professional organization whose 1,700 designees, affiliates, and associates, represent the leading industrial and office Realtors, investment specialists, and corporate real estate executives.

SIOR designees, affiliates, and associates form a global network consisting of more than 800 offices in 350 cities throughout the U. S. and abroad.

The Society was founded in 1941 when a select group of industrial real estate brokers was asked by the U. S. War Department to locate facilities for war production.  Following the war, Society members were instrumental in identifying production and distribution centers to meet the demand for industrial production in the U. S.  The Society, formerly know as SIR, became SIOR in 1986, encouraging practitioners in the burgeoning office property market to achieve the designation.
