Bay Area Economic Development Council
The Bay Area Economic Partnership is a nonprofit organization founded in 1984 and funded by a membership composed of the greater Clear Lake region and Houston business communities which includes the cities of Friendswood, Webster, Nassau Bay, El Lago, Taylor Lake Village, Clear Lake Shores, Seabrook, Kemah, and League City, and parts of the cities of Pasadena and Houston. The region also includes southern Harris County and northern Galveston County.

The Galveston Economic Development Partnership (GEDP) is the pre-eminent economic development organization on Galveston Island. The GEDP partners with the City of Galveston, the Galveston Chamber of Commerce, and many leading businesses and non-profit organizations both on the Island and in the South Texas region.
Greater Conroe Economic Development
In Conroe, Texas, they are ready to do business. Before venturing into the business relocation/expansion market, they first passed a half-cent sales tax for incentives and improvement of the infrastructure. They have an accurate inventory of properties - with prices - and developed a 1045-acre platted industrial park with roads, signage and utilities. They also also assessed our community to gain a comprehensive understanding of the components of the local economy and our strengths and weaknesses.

Texas Economic Development
The mission and performance of the Texas Department of Economic Development is currently being reviewed by the Legislature as required under the Texas Sunset Act. The Sunset Act provides that group of eight legislators and two public members, the Sunset Commission must periodically evaluate a state agency to determine if the agency is needed, is effective, and if tax dollars are well spent. Based on the recommendations of the Sunset Commission, the Texas Legislature ultimately decides whether an agency continues to operate into the future.
