Brake Check entered the Houston market in 1973. After more than 30 years of expansion, it became clear that, due to redundancy and or obsolescence, some of the Houston locations needed to be repositioned. Brake Check retained Patrick Graham with Colliers International to oversee this effort.
The Challenge…
The assignment presented a unique set of challenges. Acquiring small land tracts for an automotive repair facility is one of the most difficult tasks in retail site selection. The assignment required a thorough knowledge of the market, an understanding of local demographic patterns and a dedicated work ethic.
Solutions…
Patrick completed a review of the Houston market, analyzed current Brake Check locations and developed a realignment strategy. He marketed sites identified for disposition, researched potential sites for acquisition and prioritized each requirement.
Results…
Brake Check disposed of 6 obsolete locations and replaced them with 5 new stores. The implementation of the realignment strategy was such a success that Brake Check retained Patrick as their exclusive nation-wide real estate representative.
