Colliers Bennett & Kahnweiler, Inc. has managed properties since our introduction into Denver in 1966 as a developer of commercial properties in the newly formed Montbello Industrial Park. During this time, 71 commercial buildings were developed by CB&K. In the mid 1980’s we changed our management focus from managing the properties we developed to that of a contract fee manager. We established management relationships with, among others, Prudential Insurance, The Estate of James Campbell, Citicorp Real Estate, Mutual of New York (MONY), and Wachovia Bank & Trust, as well as smaller, private ownership groups. We now represent TA Associates Realty – Boston, American Realty Advisors – Los Angeles, and Watumull Properties – Honolulu. Our commercial management portfolio is consistently comprised of several million square feet under multiple ownerships.
Colliers Bennett & Kahnweiler’s property management philosophy is to maximize each asset’s value through stable and proven management and accounting techniques. A personalized interest in the day-to-day management with primary concerns placed on positive tenant relations while being mindful of the fiduciary and budgetary responsibility to the property owner further clarifies the CB&K management position. We strongly believe in long-term relationships with our clients and tenants. Balancing the ownership goals and tenant expectations is a challenge we have mastered by maintaining and improving the physical asset, controlling expenses and performing regular property inspections.
Our management staff consists of professional property managers, property accountants and staff engineers. We have found it cost effective for our clients to contract outside services, such as landscaping and snow removal, rather than maintaining a staff of service personnel. We have several members of our staff with tenure at CB&K of 6 – 12 years, emphasizing the point that our company is solid, considered a good company to work for, and professional in our approach to property management. Our clients appreciate working with the same people over the years.
