Colliers Pinkard, 2008-04-08

Charlotte, NC
As the representatives for owners Allison Holdings, Colliers Pinkard finalized a 10-year lease of the Wood Ridge Center in Charlotte by Myers & Chapman, one of the region’s top commercial and industrial builders. After completing the deal, Myers & Chapman began work immediately on environmentally friendly renovations of the 11,000 square foot space. Seeking LEED CI certification (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design—Commercial Interiors) from the United States Green Building Council, the up-fit, under the leadership of Myers & Chapman’s architect Tim Demitt, has taken a “Green” approach that includes the use of recycled building materials.
LEED Certification is the nationally recognized benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high-performance green buildings, with the goal of maximizing operational efficiency while minimizing environmental impact. LEED promotes a whole-building approach to sustainability by recognizing performance in five key areas of human and environmental health: sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection and indoor environmental quality. Each of these areas is being addressed during renovations of the Wood Ridge Center.
“The building was originally built in 1988,” said D. Maxwell Hanks who, along with Keith Bell, brokered the deal for Colliers Pinkard. He added that, “Myers & Chapman is a leader in environmentally responsible construction. The steps they are taking towards LEED CI certification in their space will benefit the company, their employees, Wood Ridge Center, and of course the environment. We are honored to play a part in Myers & Chapman's green initiatives and hope other property owners and tenants follow their example.” Renovations of the Wood Ridge Center, which is located on Billy Graham Parkway, are slated for completion by early summer of this year.
