Billy Ellison with Colliers Keenan has been selected for membership by the REALTORS Land Institute (RLI), headquartered in Chicago, IL.  The announcement was made by RLI, which is an affiliate of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS.  Billy is also a member of the Charelston Trident Association of REALTORS and the RLI South Carolina Chapter.

Mr. Ellison joins an elite group of over 2,500 land specialist members of RLI throughout North America.  In addition to subscribing to the REALTORS Code of Ethics, RLI members support the high standards of conduct and experience that directly relate to their speciality as established by the REALTORS Land Institute Board of Directors.

Through the RLI Land University, the Institute provides specialty education for members to be current in all aspects of taxation, investment, brokerage, subdividing, and planning regarding agricultural, transitional, recreational, and timberland.  This depth of knowledge translates into the highest level of service to prospective purchasers and sellers of land.  Through other activities, members are kept up-to-date with developments in the industry.  Members, who subscribe, market their clients' properties online through the RLILand.Net property service and in marketing sessions sponsored by local RLI Chapter or at national RLI meetings.

RLI awards the Accredited Land Consultant (ALC) designation to its members who meet rigorous knowledge and experience requirements.  The ALC designation is recognized throughout North America as the pinnacle of achievement for land real estate specialists.

RLI is an affiliate of the 1,000,000+ member National Association of REALTORS.  It is the only branch of the REALTOR family focused on land brokerage transactions within five specialized types: (1) farms and ranches; (2) undeveloped tracts of land; (3) transitional and development land; (4) subdivision and wholesaling of lots; and (5) site selection and assemblage of land parcels.  The institute was organized in 1944, and has been dedicated ever since to improving the professional competence of its members in land brokerage, management and development.
