Bulgaria Retail Market 1st Half of 2008
In terms of modern retail, Bulgaria is still relatively under-supplied with an average shopping mall ratio of 15 m2/1,000 capita. However, the segment is growing fast; in the second half of 2007 seven new shopping malls broke ground.

Bulgaria Retail Market 2nd Half of 2007
Retail is still the most dynamic commercial real estate sector in Bulgaria. The active shopping mall pipeline increased by 138,500 m2 Gross Leasable Area (GLA) and amounts to 201,000 m2 under construction by the end of June 2007.

Bulgaria Retail Market 1st Half of 2007
The retail real estate sector saw considerable activity in 2006. Altogether five new major shopping centers opened doors in 2006 bringing the total number of existing malls in Bulgaria to six or 105,500 m2 of gross leasable area.

Sofia Retail Market Overview 1st Half of 2006
Larger retail formats such as shopping malls and big-box retail outlets are increasingly preferred by Bulgarian consumers. Two shopping malls opened in Sofia in the first half of 2006, adding a combined 42,000 m2 of gross leasable area to the retail stock.
