Some of our on-going commitments are:
Association Autism
Together with Globul, a major Bulgarian telecommunications company, Colliers has entered into a long-term cooperation with Association Autism to support and sponsor the activities of the Association.
On-going projects include the development of Resource Centers for children and adolescents, attention and training related to their special needs, and specialized education for their parents, family members, and teachers. Colliers is proud to be able to support this worthy initiative.
Scholarship Program with City University
For Colliers International, investing in knowledge and education has always been of great importance. In 2008, our company joined City University’s corporate scholarship program, covering the annual tuition fee of third-year graduates with specific GPA. Colliers continued the participation in 2009 by organizing a competition on “Green buildings – moving the real estate sector to the next level” research paper topic. Candidates were invited to present their paper to a committee comprising Colliers International employees. Their decision was unanimous – the 2009 scholarship was awarded to Daniel Bobotanov, who demonstrated clarity of thought and excellent presentation skills as well as a well-structure thesis, through research and clear conclusions.
Chico from the Sofia Zoo
Since the autumn of 1997 the management of Sofia Zoo launched a Program for Adoption of Animals. The purpose of the initiative is to support the park not only in its everyday operations but also in carrying out its planned projects for renovation and development in the future.
Since June 2006 Colliers International subscribed to the noble cause and adopted a rhinoceros called Chico. He is a 17-year old white rhino and was born in Sofia. According to the “IUCN
Red List”, white rhinos have a Near Threatened status for conservation. Such status is given to species which may be considered threatened with extinction in the near future.
Our contributions will - among other things - fund improvements of his enclosure in the Sofia Zoo and provide him with proper nutrition and medications when needed.
Gymnast Adela Dimova
Colliers committed to support the ambitions of a 15-year-old gymnast Adela Dimova. She is an active member of Levski Gymnastics Club and is one of the top 8 gymnasts in Bulgaria. Colliers supported her participation in the European Championship for girls. We are proud of Adela’s previous sports achievements and we believe she will continue to represent Bulgaria in the best possible way.
