Debbie Parmley (S) is Vice President, Resort Commercial Properties for Colliers Monroe Friedlander and has over twenty years of resort commercial property development, management, leasing, promotional event and marketing experience. In this capacity, Debbie oversees the Big Island resort properties in the company’s portfolio. This entails ensuring the preparation and administration of CAM and operating budgets, site inspections as well as the coordination of maintenance, janitorial and security. Debbie’s philosophy is to create and maintain great tenant relations and implement methods to elevate both ownership and tenant profits. She excels at the development and implementation of exciting and rewarding promotional events, advertising campaigns and marketing to re-energize and stimulate the local communities and tourist customer base.
Prior to joining Colliers, Debbie was a member of the development and management team for Queens’ MarketPlace (a 135,000 square foot first class destination shopping center on Hawaii’s Big Island which includes an adjoining 4,000 person outdoor amphi-theatre). She was also a member of the development and management team of Kings’ Shops (a 70,000 square foot retail shopping center). Creating standard operating procedures, operating budgets, safety standards, and first class resort destination appeal is just a small piece of Debbie’s repertoire. Understanding the maintenance, janitorial and security functions while assuring ownership and tenants alike maximum profits is paramount. Coordinating with the leasing team to create the perfect resort destination tenant mix is always vital for all involved in the overall shopping center profile. Promotional events, advertising and marketing is always the cornerstone of making sure that the community (kamaaina) and tourists (malihini) come together to enjoy all a resort center can offer. Incorporating the importance of the Hawaiian culture into all aspects of the overall feel of the centers is vital. All of the above delicately intertwined leads to the success of the tenants, enjoyment of the guests, and ultimately to the success for the shopping center owner. Debbie plays a pivotal role in helping her owner clients achieve that success.
