David J. Gelfand has over 25 years’ experience in commercial real estate specializing in representation of tenants in the Metropolitan Chicago market. He has represented assignments totaling over seven million square feet of office leasing transactions in his career. He has addressed numerous forums on leasing issues including the American Bar Association annual meeting, the Chicago Bar Association, the Turnaround Management Association and co-chaired the Negotiating Leases Program with CLE International as well as a frequent panelist before Law Seminars International and Illinois Real Estate Journal programs.

Prior to joining Colliers, David was Executive Managing Director at Studley, Inc., where he was consistently one of the top producers in the downtown office. He began his career as an attorney with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, the National Futures Association and Katten, Muchin and Zavis.

David’s successful negotiations twice earned him a finalist designation for the Chicago Sun-Times Broker of the Year. David was also a finalist for COLBA Tenant Representative of the Year.

David is on the Board of Directors of Foundation for Hearing and Speech Rehabilitation, and a member of the Chicago fundraising committee for the Eliot Society of Washington University.
