Colliers worked with the client to consolidate seven laboratories with minimal negative impact on existing staff.
Challenge
To identify the optimal location to consolidate 7 office/laboratories, while also minimizing the impact of relocation on the Client’s skilled lab technicians.
Key Services
GIS mapping studies and site selection decision support were employed by Colliers in this project. Colliers mapped employee distribution by facility and department. The sales volume by municipality was then mapped and a location optimisation model was constructed. Finally a regional commute-to-work analysis (private and public transit) was performed.
Value
Colliers used employee and sales data to pinpoint the optimal site location for the Client’s new flagship head office and laboratory. The study supported the Client’s HR department on employee attrition and retention risk management. Colliers subsequently assembled a design and project management team to lead the Client’s build-to-suit initiative.
