Colliers worked with a major auto parts distributor to assess the impacts of consolidating three warehouse distribution facilities into one 100,000 square foot central facility.
Challenge:
Analyze the potential impact of consolidation and relocation on the current customer base, while also finding the most cost competitive market for expansion.
Services:
Colliers performed a GIS "center of gravity" mapping study of all customer revenues (nationwide) from the three distribution facilities in question, and identified the area of greatest revenue concentration. We also performed a Business Climate ProfileTM analysis study and corresponding weighted matrix ranking of variables such as wage and benefit rates, labor availability, education levels, realty taxes, and realty costs.

Colliers' study enabled Client management to effectively identify their region of highest revenue concentration, and to integrate real estate and business strategy, in order to reduce future costs of operation while maximizing access to customers.
